2017年、KUYA、いとしき、DANTOの3人によって結成された、東京を拠点に活動する台湾発のクリエイター集団。
日本のレイヴカルチャーを好むメンバー同士の何気ないグループチャットをきっかけに活動を開始。2019年にはパーティーシリーズ「WAIYOPA」を立ち上げ、イベントの企画・開催を本格的に始める。2021年にはコロナ禍を機にVRレイヴシーンへと活動の場を広げ、VRChat上でのイベント開催にも取り組んできた。
その後、活動を通じて同じ想いを持つ仲間たちが加わり、イベントの企画・運営にとどまらず、楽曲制作やVRコンテンツ制作など、表現の幅を広げている。楽曲は『東方ダンマクカグラ ファンタジア・ロスト』に提供。VR作品も「Sanrio Virtual Festival」や「第82回ヴェネツィア国際映画祭」などで披露されるなど、リアルとバーチャルの両方で活動を展開している。
Founded in 2017 by KUYA, itoshiki, and DANTO, TOKYO WAIYOZ is a creator collective from Taiwan, based in Tokyo. What started as a casual group chat among people who shared a love for Japanese rave culture grew into event organizing, with the launch of the WAIYOPA party series in 2019. In 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, they expanded into the VR rave scene and began hosting events in VRChat.
Over the years, the collective has grown to include more like-minded creators, and expanded into original music and VR content production. Their music has been featured in the game Touhou Danmaku Kagura: Phantasia Lost, while their VR works have been showcased at events including Sanrio Virtual Festival and 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
